Punk Slime Recordings are proud to announce that Stockholm based artist Manuela Iwansson is joining the family, with two new singles set to be released this fall to coincide with a full European tour supporting Orville Peck. Manuela Iwansson is the former vocalist of the defunct Swedish punk band Terrible Feelings that toured extensively across both Europe and the US before disbanding in 2016, and during the past five years she’s been busy playing bass live with Swedish punk act Hurula.

Last year, she self-released her debut EP Dream Lover – a neat little bundle of romance and grit. To describe the EP, she wrote: “The stage is set to a 1980s ballroom, where dream lovers navigate a dream world of imminent longing. Four songs doused in sadness and seduction – a soundtrack of dancing desperately into the night”.

Since then she’s been busy working on new music while performing a select few first solo shows around Stockholm, and two new singles, titled “Strangers on a Train” and “Blank Surface”, will be released this fall. Musically, they pick up where Dream Lover left off, but with added noise and 80s Berlin noir. Her sound continues to be romantic and eerie; they are pop songs that try to convey the condition of solitude and the beauty of the disappearing moment.

“Strangers on a Train” and “Blank Surface” were recorded by Martin “Konie” Ehrencrona at Studio Cobra in Stockholm and Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan in Malmö, and features Manuela Iwansson on vocals, bass and tambourine, Henrik Palm on guitar, Elias Jungqvist on keys, Hugo Mårtensson on drums and Joakim Lindberg on guitar and vocals.
