Review: 'Fat White Family'
'Breaking Into Aldi'

-  Label: 'Without Consent'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '15th August 2016'

Our Rating:
Cock-flashing indie ruckus-raising wild men Fat White Family aren’t just about the manic live shows: they’re a band who pack some solid tunes, too. ‘Breaking into Aldi’, the band’s first new material to see the light since their second album ‘Songs for Our Mothers’, released in January. Which is barely five minutes ago: yes, these guys are on a serious roll right now.

Of the track, Lias said, ‘This song is a post apocalyptic vision of a barely united United Kingdom bereft of quality German supermarkets and their insipid low prices; ‘Breaking Into Aldi’ is the anthem that never was, a call to arms for the senselessness of our future futility, an overcrowded shadow begging for a rerun, a sell out by sell outs for sell outs. This Fat Whites collaboration with Cole Alexander of the Black Lips, Sean Lennon and Zumi Roscow of the K Holes is by all intents and purposes the sound of hopelessness attempting to bleed itself dry.’

It's not only current, but it’s killer. ‘fuck me inside out’ and ‘what a chorus LOL’ say the fans on the track’s Soudcloud stream. And rightly so. It’s a magnificent, feedback-strewn squall of a track, a gnarly, snarling riot of a song that grabs you by the throat. It also has a hint of early Psychedelic Furs about it, and it’s the single to soundtrack the summer of 2016.
