Review: 'Piskie Sits'
'Cold Heart'

-  Label: 'Philophobia Music'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '9th September 2016'

Our Rating:
So, as the press release tells us, Piskie Sits are back. Did you miss them? Well, maybe you ought to have done. Marc Riley loves ‘em and has had them in session twice – twice! For 6Music. Chances are if they weren’t from Wakefield they’d be bloody massive by now. ‘Cold Heart’ arrives ahead of their third studio album entitled ‘Stick and Twist’, and combines psychedelic shoegaze and a funk edge with their uniquely sloppy, off-kilter lo-fi indie style.

To complain that the singing’s not quite in tune is to completely miss the point of their beautifully ramshackle music-making, and ‘Cold Heart’ is an ace tune which achieves the almost unimaginable feat of crossing Prince with Pavement, and with a nice 80s radio fadedeout too.

Does Piskie really sit on Facebook? Etc.
