Review: 'DENIS THE NIGHT & THE PANIC PARTY'
'Cosmic Youth'

-  Label: 'Wall Of Sound'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '7th October 2016'

Our Rating:
The unwieldy name is the cumbersome stage identity of an enigmatic Italian born trio - two female, one male - who sing in English and prefer to give their location as somewhere between Fano and London.

Their debut album includes the three songs that made up their EP, Udu, and, of the 'new' songs, the manic title track and the single Androgynous Love are probably the best entry points.

The tunes combine "shoegaze and stardust" to concoct a dense psychedelic stew of ten "astral grooves" that throw in snippets of Animal Collective, Suicide and The Beatles among others.

While not without flavour they lack the vital ingredient of individuality that would make any of them truly distinctive.
