Reading the band bio for Fragile Things, I experienced a strange sense of deja-vu. ‘Drawing from a slew of rock bands, panning from early Guns ‘n’ Roses, Alice in Chains, and Dead Sara, through to Velvet Revolver and Bon Jovi, Fragile Things are poised to break out with a reboot of their compelling new EP ‘Broken Sun’… It’s a helping of modern day rock that will excite the masses’.
Right. So, we’re going to assume that having failed to excite the masses the first time around, their derivative template rock tunes are going to inspire a more enthusiastic reception second time around, are we? Really? There really isn’t anything to say about the four cuts on offer here.

All of the elements are present and correct. Unremarkable riffs, woo-oah backing vocal harmonies, twiddly solos, horribly high-pitched vocals. I’ve never got that about so many rock singers. For all the macho posturing, it’s not very butch-sounding. Ok, so it’s not my bag, but that’s not my beef: the real flaw in the hype is that everything about this is utterly bog standard.
