Our Rating:
Ciao, my name is Alice Bisi. I'm 20 years old and come from Florence in Italy. I like to spend my free time thinking about apocalyptic events.

I often feel empty inside or full of poison and habitually view life as worthless, loveless, lifeless, hopeless and heartless.

Apart from that, I'm quite happy really.

As I sing on Prelude For The Loveless, you can think of me as "your saviour and your terror".

This record is by my alter-ego BIRTHH (all capitals and the extra H is deliberate).

Singing in English helps give me a distance from all the negative stuff that I went through as a troubled adolescent. I'm only being half ironic when I call myself The Queen Of Failureland.

I wrote my first single Chlorine about an ex. You might guess that things ended badly when you hear me sing that this guy makes me sick and haunts me "like a demon in my head that kills the happiness in me".

I didn't set out to make an electonica album but the arrangements and fragmented rhythms overseen by Lorenzo Borgatti and Massimo Borghi turned the songs from the rough folky demos I made in my bedroom into something shadowy yet luminous.

Some say it's like dark gospel music.

From the album's conception to its birth took three years and I'm not sure if or how I will follow it.
I may wind up like Margaret Margaret O'Hara and so this could be my one and only intensely personal record. Or who knows, I might be like Björk and go from strength to strength.

Either way, I've already started to write happier songs.
