Review: 'KORIA KITTEN RIOT'
'Songs Of Hope And Science'

-  Label: 'VILD Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '27th January 2017'

Our Rating:
This is a five-piece band from Finland but to all intents and purposes it is an eccentric, good-natured solo project by one Antti Reikko.

His/their third release under the unlikely moniker Koria Kitten Riot presents ten songs which express a non-religious perspective on where we're at, based on some brief research on string theory, quantum theory and space exploration in general.

Reikko says he "found our lack of knowledge about the universe comforting".

The first single, The Earth Will Spin Around, is typical of the dreamily optimistic tone of the record.

There's a Grandaddy sense of wonderment with life on our small planet conveyed through catchy pop tunes replete with three part harmonies and a "shitload of chords".

Despite song-sized sentiments to the effect that The Good Old Days Are Never Coming Back or Forever's Gonna Be A Long Long Time, hope springs eternal.
