Review: 'SIGNALS & ALIBIS'
'Looks Like Rain EP'

-  Label: 'Dreamy Life Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'February 2017'-  Catalogue No: 'DLR-019'

Our Rating:
The duo known as Signals & Alibis are from Fort Worth, Texas and have been a band for almost 6 years. This 5-track EP is their second release.

Both members, Rebecca Jozwiak and Brian Carter, are multi instrumentalists who play guitar, bass, synths, drums, loops, melodica, and "whatever else they can get their hands on".

With titles like Monstrous Whore and Black Mold you might expect something heavy and confrontational. Yet while tracks like these owe a debt to dark trip-hop, they are also dreamy shoegaze pieces with female vocals and enigmatic lyrics that are as much about mood as menace.

No new ground is broken but the layered rhythms do enough to hold your attention.
