Our Rating:
Yes, Sterling Roswell is back with another single called Give Peace Another Chance. this time it is the 50th Anniversary summer Of love special edition 12" Vinyl record ultra hi-fidelity disc version with Tim Sheridan/Martin Lefteri/Max2Ksub/Steve Donnelly/Geraint Watkins/Matt Bradford/Neil Brockbank/Goldtop Studio's and Wired Master. Bit of a mouthful, eh?

The single kicks off with the Tim Sheridan/Martin Lefteri voyager mix which is full of dancefloor beats and pulses and almost hushed vocals. It takes us on a 7 minute journey into a very cool vibe but it sounds nothing like Sterling's previous single of almost identical name. That doesn't really matter as the bass steps up and the chiming noises come in as the space invaders seem to attack in the name of peace. This version is more chill out room than main dancefloor.

The Max 2Ksub/ Jet Morgan Mix has much more of a digi dub feel to it almost like early 90's Ultramarine with a cool pulsing bass sound and odd (are they) keyboards or perhaps some percussion bell type sounds before the vocals come. Then it gets all glitchy, it goes further out there into almost ambient reconstructions of an idea of a tune that eventually gives way to a more conventional sound for 8 bars or so before the dubby bass hits in again and suddenly Sterling is singing about how we should Give Peace Another Chance. No arguments there chief.

The final version is the rather epic 9 minute plus Tim Sheridan/Martin Lefteri Voyager Version. This opus starts out in a quite exploratory way with odd space sounds and phased vocals which wash through the speakers and into your mind. It feels like the soundtrack to an odd sci-fi film with the gentle pulses and bell-type sounds making it have a very laid back feel to it as we should all give Peace Another Chance.
