Having signed to new indie Label Stack-in-a-box Records, the Milton Keynes four-piece have gone all-out with up-and-coming Welsh producer Andy Davies, and mastering y Joe LaPorta and Katie Tavini.
‘So Enthusiastic’ goes for the grand, cinematic build before the overdriven guitars and hell-for-leather drums pile in and it all turns into predictable punk-popness. They go for the cliché platitudes on the slower ‘Better Day’, and the rest of it is just so much sameness off the conveyor belt of bands aping All Time Low, Blink 182, and Green Day. For all the bluster, the guitar sound is a bit thin and there really isn’t anything memorable or distinct about this effort. They’d have been as well maintaining the silence.
