Review: 'BASIOLA, ANDY'
'Behind The Illusion EP'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '19th January 2018'

Our Rating:
Andy Basiola is an Italian guitarist based in London and, though he looks fairly clean cut, his music is squarely in the genre of Spinal Tap-style hair metal.

How else are you supposed to categorize his debut five-track EP when it contains a tune entitled, apparently without irony, Let's Rock'n'Roll.

Basiola plays guitar and employs guest singers Gaz Twist, Gadd McFly and Helen Hurd.

It's all fairly predictable commercial rock save for the slightly folkier Go with some nice slide guitar behind Hurd's vocals.

Essentially, it sounds like a demo record to showcase the full range Basiola's playing and as such serves as a perfect record for air guitarists everywhere.
