Roedelius must be about 80 by now but his output shows no sign of abating and nor does the quality show any signs of diminishing.
In essence this is more of the same but Qluster always change it up enough to make it interesting and in this case the sound has been dictated by the choice of analogue synthesisers. In particular, a 1970s sequencer playing an endless loop of manually recorded melodies.
And sure enough the effects are stunning. These are eight beautiful and beguiling, fragile yet so strong, pieces of music. With the exception of the techno influenced "Tatum" these are not rhythmical tracks in terms of being backed with any sort of percussion but the endless loops previously mentioned do give them a sense of rhythm and form, an ebbing and pulsing if you will. "Perpetuum" is a superb (nearly ten minute) example of this.

All of these tracks repay with a replay. My personal favourites would be the hypnotic and playful "Xymelan" and "Weite" which employs echo chambers to stunning effect. It's probably just another day in the lab composing for this old dog but for anyone fortunate enough to hear the results, it looks like our lucky day.
