Review: 'Armisen, Fred'
'Parade Meeting'

-  Label: 'Org Music'
-  Genre: 'Soundtrack' -  Release Date: '17.7.21.'

Our Rating:
This three track EP from Fred Armisen is out for Record Store Day on single sided vinyl with a cool custom etching on the flip side. The EP was recorded at Ty Segall's Los Angeles studio. Fred Armisen is one of this years Record store day Ambassadors.

Parade Meeting opens with some gentle drumming and a cool guitar line as the percussion develops almost into some Carnival style street drumming to parade dancing down the street too. It sounds almost perfect to use as a musical bed for the horns section to blow over while someone barks out dance instructions to the followers.

Any Pronunciation Works is slow deliberate soundtrack background music, the guitar line is intriguing and slowly develops with the occasional percussion coming in and out of the mix before it breaks down into odd drum sounds that move around the speakers.

The Extended Parade Meeting that closes the ep opens with some shaker and brush work getting the band ready to march on down that parade ground and get everyone going funky in the street as the languid guitar comes in for a few bars before the drums take centre stage again and the Guitar is more in the background this is cool and has loads of interesting effects going on.
