Our Rating:
Telefis is a new project from Music legends Cathal Coughlan and Jacknife Lee both of whom should need no introduction. This takes Cathal out of his usual territory and more into Jacknife Lee's more dancefloor oriented world on this single that's a precursor to the bands debut album A Ahon that's due out next February on Dimple Discs.

The first version of the 4 versions on My Imperator on the EP is the Radio edit that is also the shortest version, it has a cool synth pop edge to it with the laconic vocals of Cathal Coughlan intoning that you have no skin over Jacknife Lee's musical backing that has some cool samples and a quite early 90's multi-cultural dance feel to it.

The second version of Mr Imperator the Maurice And Charles Remix has lots of phased sounds over the intro with emerging being repeated by the disembodied narrator as this very slowly builds into an almost Loop Guru style dance tune.

The third version of Mr Imperator is the Dub Mix strips things back a bit and adds what sound like either phased guitars or some very cool scratching effects as the bassline steps forwards front and centre of the mix.

The fourth version of Mr Imperator is the Maurice And Charles edit that loses over three minutes from the other Maurice and Charles version and seems more focused on everyone getting down to it on the dancefloor and having a good time.
