The Mirror is a sketch of a relationship, and also a dual character study. It's about how being in a relationship can either enhance or distort your usual traits, and how your image of yourself is understood through comparison to the images of the people you're around. When talking with James about how to make a video that captured this, we thought about trying to reflect and refract the lyrics in interesting ways – while keeping quite a domestic feel. So, Celia's lyrics read left-to-right while mine are reversed, emphasising that sense of dialogue and interaction.
