There’s nothing subtle about this latest offering from Sic Alps: there doesn’t have to be. A gloriously scuzzed-out overloading, revery garage swagger and stomp, it’s up front and in your face. There’s therefore no point in dissecting it and scrutnizing it for hidden depths, might as well just get down instead.
The B-sides are a rather different story, however: the restrained, psych-hued ‘Carrie Jean’ is altogether more kaleidoscopic and boasts some nice harmonies beneath the wash of echo, while ‘Biz Bag’ clatters and clangs to bring things to a surging finale.
