The jangling guitars and easy melodies of The Byrds wrapped in a shimmering shoegaze swirl reminiscent of early Ride define the sound of ‘Tiny Rebels’. There’s a hint of Jesus and Mary Chain about ‘Shivers’ – think ‘Just Like Honey’ – and while the songs do have a definite pop sensibility, the production is geared toward a rather less polished sound.
The drums are partially submerged in a wash of reverby guitar, and the vocals wash in and out of the sonic haze. And it works.
