Glaswegian metal quintet Lifelines are all about pace and power. Throaty vocals scream endless tirades of anger anguish and nihilism over fast-paced guitars that blister and burn on this, their debut EP (which appears to be missing an apostrophe, but hey. I’m not about to tell them: they sound pissed off enough already).
‘The Protagonist’ ratchets up the rage before ‘Better Left Unsaid’ whips itself into a whirlwind of fury. The last track, ‘Silver Screen Synthetic’ is a suitable culmination of all that preceded it, encapsulating the band’s savage sound.
