There is something of the night about the musical narratives on this atmospheric album.
The trio behind the dark rides are guitarist Jochen Arbeit (Die Haut and Einstürzende Neubauten); drummer Achim Färber (Project Pitchfork) and bassist zeitblom.
It's a concept album of sorts with four instrumental tracks being named after the civil aviation codes of airports in the band's home city of Berlin: THF for Tempelhof (which closed in 2008), SXF - Schönefeld in East Berlin, TXL - Tegel and GWW for RAF's Gatow.
In addition, three notable transgressive voices are on board for the journey: Lydia Lunch, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Blixa Bargeld. They can be heard on The Streets, Mount Tamalpais (the album's high point) and Schlachtensee respectively.

The sense of movement is strong yet this is music to ease the monotony of travel rather than to celebrate the glamour of the jet set. When not flying, the Autobahn would be the logical alternative.
There is repetition and an unchanging character to each of the seven tracks with their Krautrock motorik pulses, slow breakbeat rhythms and heavy dub-reggae bass lines.
It's hypnotic and soporific yet never dull.
