Old Lost John is the pseudonym of Tomas Thunberg from Sweden who used to be a woodsman and a horse-keeper.
As a gravelly-voiced singer-songwriter, his intense songs tell of being lost in the emotional sense rather than describing problems with compass bearings in the Welsh valleys.
He sings about why love is (a) Hard to find (b) Difficult to hold on to OR (c) Both.
The EP contains six folk-noir, campfire laments recorded live at The Chattery in Swansea on 7th December 2013.
He's pretty up front about the mournful tone - "here's another cheery one" he says by way of a droll introduction to Scarecrow in which he sings of "drifting like a wayward kite".

For Broken, from his album Faceless, he does a passable imitation of a trumpet perhaps conscious of the limitations of the voice and acoustic guitar format.
The self explanatory Love Is Not For Me sums up the Swede's woes.
There's nothing particularly new or original here but downloading or streaming this EP would show him that you care!
