Our Rating:
So who listens to psych anyway? And more importantly, who wears clothes from the sixties? I mean those fabrics are the pits, yo get yourself a tracksuit! In actual fact psych still proves to be highly collectible, covers a huge variety of music and is a major influence on many new artists who continue to breathe new life into the genre.

Dom Thomas of the Whyte Horses is well known for running the Finders Keepers label so he knows his onions and the proof of that comes in the form of this great single called The Snowfalls. True, it seems intent on being authentic to the sixties psych template but it does so with some aplomb and as a standalone single it is a genuine earworm so who cares what decade it’s from?

So it’s all here folks. Gently strummed acoustic, ‘spiel’ type keyboard overlays, lilting and uplifting melodies and yes you guessed it, some sitar, although I hasten to add this has been tastefully done. And all of this in less than four minutes. On top of this, the single has a truly psychedelic and quite beautiful video which I am led to believe incorporates footage from a Czechoslovakian children’s programme. Pity the children of Czechoslovakia. Adults of Britain rejoice. If you purchase this single you will find yourself hitting rewind a lot, it’s as good a single as I have heard all year.
