Review: 'Reverted'
'Sputter the Worms'

-  Album: 'Sputter the Worms' -  Label: 'Ragtime Records'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal'

Our Rating:
Tipped as recommended for fans of Soil & Breed 77, London rock act Reverted are all about the riffology, the guitar chug and the grind. They’re all about the heaviness, the nasty. Check out the press shot. Wait, the guy on the left of the band photo, is that Johnny Depp? No? Oh well.

They still make a mean hard-rock noise, solid in the rhythm section, bringing that old-school grit and grain and whisky growl to a set of songs that swagger and holler, bawl and howl. Sure, some of it sounds pretty ‘Black Album’ era Metallica but there are far worse things it could sound like and on balance, ‘Sputter the Worms’ sees Reverted do the job they set out to.
