Review: 'This is Shark Country'
'Chances (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '13th November 2015'

Our Rating:
Powered by some kinetic drumming and intensely technical and complex guitar work, ‘Chances’ is a jolting, jarring sonic assault. Bubbling, bibbling 80s computer game style electronics bounce around between the pulsating basslines and angular power chords. Presenting a defiant stance, the shouted vocals are more hardcore punk in style than anything, This is Shark Country offer an eclectic sound. They also offer plenty of aggression, but not a lot of melody. Not that that’s a problem in itself, but at times, it sounds like lead shouter Oli Cole is grasping to create one, which makes for a rather awkward dissonance.
