‘Don’t Go Down Gentle’ is the third album from three rowdy and occasionally foul-mouthed punks from Liverpool (UK) who are Pasha Coxhill (Bass/Vocals), Phil Hartley (Bass/Vocals), and Allan ‘Gonzo’ Jones (Drums/Vocals).
The album has 12 tracks but only lasts 23 minutes. Do the math and you'll get that these guys are not into prolonged guitar solos or prolonged anything for that matter. They are not called 'super fast' for nothing! The longest tune (Roller Derby (stole my baby)) clocks in at 2 minutes 28 seconds.
Their press agents call the resulting sonic assault "a head on collision of punk rock, doom metal and the blues" which nails their no frills sound pretty well.
Not gentle or subtle but the raw energy ensures the band hit the mark more often than not.
