Our Rating:
I’m starting to regret the manifold reviews I’ve penned berating melodic punk-pop bands. Really? What’s prompted the change of heart? The three people who’ve read any of those reviews may be asking themselves idly. No change of heart: I’ve just been inundated with bands like this who do the same melodic punk-pop thing but without the melody – by which I mean, they’re fronted by dreadful vocalists.

WSTR have no shortage of energy, and the lyrics – a veritable swearfest with abundant passion and some pithy couplets – are better than average, but that can only compensate bad singing to a point.

Similarly, the autotune as an effect that crops up from time to time doesn’t actually change the fact the singer can’t hit the notes, instead mangling their approximations in his throat like he’s gargling with his nose closed.
