This Detroit four-piece led by Joe Casey are accurately described by their press agents as "singularly visceral".
Indeed, from the bored, dismissive tone of the vocals, a bit like Camper Van Beethoven's David Lowery, it's fair to assume that Mr Casey and crew do not have a particularly high opinion of humankind.
This is confirmed by Casey's summary of Why Does It Shake?, a savage song which he says is "a back-handed ode to humanity's resilient self regard in the face of inevitable oblivion".
Still, the warped Psychobilly grooves along with the same kind of petulant post-punk energy as early Fall (the band, not the season!).
The fluidity of the 12 tracks on the band's third album in as many years suggest they are on a roll.
Although the sound is left deliberately rough around the edges, the tightness and control of this record very impressive.
