Eureka California have a new limited edition (of 500 copies) 7" single out and it pretty much sounds like you'd expect it to sound. A-side, Wigwam, isn't the 70's-style glam stomper the title may suggest but more of a slice of low-fi pop that keeps getting faster as it goes along. Well, until that point when it just seems to fall apart and the band's ride to the sky might be another broken dream.
The B-side opens with Only Birds No Feathers, with the sound of analogue tape being reversed like on many reggae singles. Only this ain't no reggae single as Marie Uhler's clattering drums make clear and Jake Ward's guitar and vocals go all low-fi pop in the style of, say, Jad Fair on us in a pretty cool way.

Slack Motherfucker may be a Superchunk cover but they play it more in the style of Sebadoah. They moan and bitch about the slack Mo-Fo of a boss in a way in which most of us can sympathise and it sounds pretty angst-y with it. It's a cool way to conclude a short, sharp single.
