This is the Brooklyn band's 7th album no less and the fourth to feature Grace Pulliam (vocals, keyboards, percussion) who lends female company to founder member Wendy Griffiths (vocals, keyboards, bass). Two guys on guitar and percussion make up the rest of the band.
Despite being around since the late '90s , with varying line-ups, the vast majority of their back catalogue still has less than 1000 plays on Spotify. Listening to this instantly forgettable album it's not hard to understand why.
The flat production means that none of the dozen tracks have any true sense of energy or excitement.
The band want to play bright, cheery pop with experimental aspirations but the tunes lack any memorable hooks or quirks.
