This five-piece band from Gloucestershire have their roots firmly in early American R’n’B. The good time songs are driven by raspy vocals, a tight rhythm section and a wailing harmonica.
The production is rough and ready; all ten tracks were recorded mostly ‘live in the studio’ in the Welsh market town of Rhayader.
They call it “gospel music for the godless” and the focus is on catchy dance floor friendly numbers.
Don’t be fooled by the apparent biblical reference in the final track, See Me Back Jesus; the Jesus in question is a local character who has put himself in charge of traffic duties
Worth investigating if you like no frills party music and The Commitments movie.
