Review: 'Sea of Sin'
'Valentine'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '14th February 2020'

Our Rating:
German synth duo Sea of Sin seem to be looking to ape DAF in their press pics, and I’m certainly not going to criticise them for that. Especially when there are plenty of other things to criticise.

It’s a pity that ‘Valentine’, the fifth – fifth! – single from their latest album ‘Unbroken’ doesn’t explore the DAF stylings that seem to influence the cover art, and instead wanders around in the vast expanse of lacklustre electroslop that’s been flooding the currents of contemporary music for the best part of 35 years now. If only it had the nuts or dark twists o A-Ha, it might have something to recommend it, but this song of lost love is more closely related to the mediocrity of contemporaries like Bastille, and there’s nothing to get excited about here.
