Review: 'Seablite'
'High-Rise Mannequins EP'

-  Label: 'Emotional Response Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '21.2.20.'

Our Rating:
This latest Ep by San Francisco's Seablite offers similar value for money as a $10 boat trip around Alcatraz island and the bay and is as comforting as a serving of soup in a bread bowl.

The Ep opens with High-Rise Mannequins a cool slice of shoegaze pop that recalls Lush and a little bit of Downy Mildew it has that lazy hazy feel to it.

Skipping Stones see them trying not to hit any sea lions while throwing those stones into the ocean on a beach that is hopefully as clean sounding as this song is and better than San Francisco's Beaches were in the late 80's and early 90's. It has a lovely wistful feeling to it.

On flipping the 10" Single over we find ourselves seated on the Skeleton Couch trying to figure out which Marine Girls song they are trying to re-work to wonderfully nice effect and if the vocals have enough reverb on them yet.

The Ep closes with Pretend that reminds me a lot of Pauline Murray & The Storm's one and only 12" single that I played to death for years after buying it. Yes this is a great tune to end a very cool ep.
