Featuring Garry Beers, founding member and bassist of INXS and Toby Rand, who is immodestly billed as "a man with one of the best Rock voices on the planet", the breathless pre-publicity for Ashenmoon suggests that the future of rock and roll was being beamed in from San Fernando Valley (L.A.).
After all the hype, I searched in vain for what must surely be a a game-changing epic debut album only to find that the hyperbolic blurb relates only to a double A side single consisting of Dustbowl and Mosquito.
These two tracks are neither "majestically anthemic" nor "majestically intimate" but are merely lacklustre examples the kind of 70s style pomp-rock that Punk was supposed to save us from.
