Taking their name, presumably, from the seminal Swedish documentary on witchcraft from 1922, the press release for this all-female three-piece claims that with ‘White Noise’, ‘the Welsh trio have delivered one of the best hard rock albums of the year’.
This is something of a stretch. I mean, it’s ok. More than ok on a technical level. The songs are alright, or better: they’re solid, and sit comfortably in the bracket of melodic rock with chunky riffs and big 80s production.
Truth is, I can’t fault it. But there really isn’t much else to say. It’s ultimately accessible, big on melody, harmony, riffs, and drive, and there’s a level of precision to it all that’s genuinely impressive.
