Review: 'EXOS'
'Indigo'

-  Label: 'Figure'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '25th May 2020'

Our Rating:
Iceland-born Exos (aka Arnviður "Addi" Snorrason) now abides in Columbia, USA and has been busier DJ-ing and producing other artists than making his own music.

This is his fourth studio album but it is his first in 19 years.

There is no great range to the thirteen tracks and I imagine they were conceived as a whole and intended to be consumed in the same manner. However, with a total playing time is 73 minutes, it's more likely to be a record that will be dipped into rather than subject to a binge-listen.

The thirteen tracks alternate between shiny metallic rhythms and more organic dub inflected techno beats. This is engaging at first although tends to become repetitive well inside the first hour

Nevertheless he creates its own sonic echo chamber with fluid and swirling loops that make for effective ambient music for hipsters.
