The music has a kind of 80s retro lounge groove feel to it, and if the vocals allude to a different kind of vintage, somewhere between 60s pop and 90’s European indie acts like Stereolab (who in turn hark back to the 60s albeit through a contemporary filter).
Lyrically, it’ entirely impenetrable, so we can only assume that the titles covers it, and it’s no doubt more interesting and fun this way.
Laced with piano, analogue synth ripples and a jazzy beat, ‘A song in Latin about the importance of comfortable shoes’ is easy, laud-back and pleasantly buoyant. And comfortable shoes are important: fact.
