Review: 'City Gates, The'
'Siegfried 1969'

-  Label: 'Velouria Recordz/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '22.7.20.'

Our Rating:
The City Gates come from Montreal and for this classic goth single have teamed up with members of Vlimmer to make a song about Germany in 1969 that sounds like it comes from Leeds or Northampton in 1982.

This is an old school goth song that makes me think of Sisters of Mercy meeting Bauhaus which are rather lazy references and well this just has the sound of early 80's batcave goth down nicely it's doomy gloomy and sort of perfect for how we all feel in 2020 as strangely the cold war austerity seems to chime with how things currently are and this is mainly in German and about the cold war apparently and feels nice and edgy.
