Review: 'ETERNELL'
'Imagined Distances'

-  Label: 'Sound In Silence'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '1st July 2020'-  Catalogue No: 'sis075'

Our Rating:
Eternell is the meditative music project of Ludvig Cimbrelius, based in Höör, Sweden. Like a master spy Cimbrelius has also operated under various monikers on other labels. This is his second release on the diy label based in Athens, Greece after Still Light in 2018.

The album, mastered by George Mastrokostas, consists of six long-form ambient tracks. It opens with the seven minute Spiraling Light and closes with the epic title track which clocks in at just over twenty-four minutes.

The swirling synths and slowly evolving soundscapes (with occasional hints of wordless vocals) are clearly designed as an immersive listening experience.

The Swedish artist invites you to take a chill pill and drift along gently with the subtly changing rhythms. You can be reassured that there are no sudden key changes or jarring notes to break the mood . All you need do is turn off your mind, relax and float downstream.
