Review: 'AFTERWARDNESS'
'Afterwardness'

-  Label: 'Thirtythree-45'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '29th October 2020'

Our Rating:
The debut lp by these experimental Dubliners is described as "mesmeric, relentless, repetitive and spacey" which just about covers all the bases.

Over the course of two extended tracks - Vessel (18:41) and Shellakapooky (16:30) - Brian, Conzo and Andy set the controls for the heart of somewhere or other giving the impression that they could keep going for hours rather than just 35 minutes.

Vocals drift in and out but it's the instrumental jamming with guitars, keyboards and drums that is central. Nobody plays bass.

The first owes a lot to Neu-like Krautrock motorik while the second is like a glam-rock stomper gone to seed.

Bonkers but fun.
