Our Rating:
This is the debut album by Welsh-born Heather Read and Canadian Jonny Miller. The couple are partners in music and life. They are based in British Columbia but the record was recorded at Henhouse Studios in Nashville. It was produced for the most part by multi-instrumentalist Steve Dawson who also plays on seven of the nine tunes.

Read and Miller's devotion to one another is evident in every track on this album. The nine melodic songs are full of gentle harmonies and sweet duets. There are titles like For My Love and Lucky in Love where the content is every bit as sentimental as you might imagine (and fear). In the latter they take turns to sing : "you're the best thing that I've ever found".

It is all extremely flowery, literally so in the closing two songs Flowers Grow and Seven Daffodils. Lyrically, they remind us of some obvious facts about nature: rivers run to the sea, winds blow in the trees and the sun shines.

I'm happy that these two have found each other and are so much in love but I'm afraid the constant celebration of this fact does not make for a compelling album.
