This is the first time these two songs have been released, they will be out as a 7" single for this year's record store day, having been unearthed in someone's archives and I know many Van Dyke Parks obsessives will be very happy to buy a copy of this single.
The A-side of this 7" single is a sumptuous string laden song that fits nicely into Van Dyke Parks oeuvre and sounds like early Scott Walker style chamber pop this is effortlessly epic.
Funny Face is far sparser yet no less beautiful, this is a slow almost waltz with some gentle acoustic adornments that wouldn't have sounded out of place in the film this song is named after.
