Our Rating:
In which three accomplished, experienced and well-travelled American musician friends join forces to share tunes to be played on the back porch over coffee and whiskey. The resulting album is as genial, chilled and domesticated as you might expect.

The musicians in question are Martin Harley, Daniel Kimbro and Sam Lewis. Harley has been exploring roots, blues and slide guitar for over two decades; Kimbro is a double bass musician from Knoxville, TN and Lewis is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter The album was produced at Wow & Flutter Studios, East Nashville.

It is clear that the trio are bent on pleasing themselves as the first priority. Lewis says: “This is a really special batch of songs we believe couldn’t have been penned and recorded independently - they required all three of us to create them together.”

The twelve mellow, laid-back and good-natured songs steer well clear of difficult emotions or controversial topics. There’s some gentle humour in Cowboys In Hawaii, a celebration of home comforts in I Gotta Chair and a hymn to rationality and sobriety in Man Get Ahold Of Yourself .

In short, this is easy listening pure and simple, designed to get your toes tapping rather than to set your pulse racing.
