Review: 'Nightingales, The'
'I Love CCTV'

-  Label: 'Tiny Global Productions/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '31.3.22.'

Our Rating:
This is The Nightingales first new release in nearly two years and is available as a free download from the band's website and bandcamp page. During those two years a major re-issue program has begun as well as the release of King Rocker the documentary about the bands long career as legendary indie darlings.

Apparently Robert Lloyd really is the sort of guy who regularly says I Love CCTV with barely a hint of irony, or even the merest thought as to why thousands of CCTV cameras may be too much, as he wants to live his life in his own public private partnership movie, hackable at any time. No actually this is a typically brilliant Nightingales single with all the bands trademark touches as they discuss the world we now live in, the moment when Fliss' backing vocals come in sounds like a stroke of genius.

Simple Soul (Live in Scheer) has a deep distressing bass line and taut guitars as Robert and Fliss trade lines and the drums punctuate your brain and make sure that it gets you every time and you need to hit replay on this single over and over.
