Our Rating:
Finally The Snivelling Shits follow through album to the bands original classic I Can't Come has issued forth from the very bowels of some of the finest rock and roll toilets around, well The Lexington and The Pelton Arms, where Lee McFadden recorded these performances. Most of this album was recorded live on the Snivelling Shits super hectic comeback tour in 2018-19 as well as two songs from an original 70's demo tape that came out as a limited edition single at The Rebellion Festival in 2019 where I foolishly didn't buy a copy as I was too excited at finally getting to have some live shits. Sadly this time around Salmon Rushdeal was unavailable to write the liner notes so they took some quotes by Stephen King and Steve Lillywhite instead.

The album opens with Tom Crossley saying good evening Ladies And Gentlemen before they launch into Terminal Stupid and it sounds as Terminally Stupid musically as you'd want it to be, with the lyrics barked out and the low-fi punk driving it along like they'd all just snorted a line or three of speed.

Only 13 is a still startling song about coming of age far too soon and knowing and doing things a 13-year-old shouldn't know, it's ramshackle and a bit desperate sounding that fits the subject matter perfectly as the kid tries to fend off the advances of the creepy old man trying to get him into the toilets.

Crossroads as ever re-works I'm Waiting for My Man as a paean to that most 70's of soap operas and showing how ahead of the game they are, this is in celebration of the shows very own Paralympian Sandy and the glory of what he could do in his chair. Sadly this time around they couldn't get Bruce Springsteen in to do the catering and instead relied on Ed Sheeran instead. As Pete Makowski's Hannah Montana guitar goes all squiggly as Tom starts clucking for his Crossroads fix.

Bring Me The Head Of Yukio Mishima sounds every bit like the billion selling Taimanese smash it was back in the day, sadly they couldn't get the Ayatollah Khomeni back on backing vocals and Dave Fudger and Pete Makowski battle over whose guitar can sound more off as they try to replicate the Samurai's death once more. This also has Tom thanking all and sundry for helping it all to happen along with band introductions.

The B-side opens with Isgodaman? They song they recorded hoping to get done for Blasphemy, the lyrics are still good and sarcastic and these days they should have sung it as isgodawoman? Just to keep things up to date, all of the asides are thrown out as James Sherry drives things along on the drums and we all scratch our heads wondering what the answer to the question is.

They then go down Sarf for I Wanna Be Your Biro and as staggering a version of this staggering song as you could have wished for, I'm sure Dave Fudger would have been staggering all over the place playing this classic. This is also the only live tune on the album to feature Richard Leeds on Bass rather than Moyni.

The original demo of Bring Me The Head Of Yukio Mishima has me wondering if this is the version with Sid Vicious and the Ayatollah Khomeni on the backing vocals, as this goes all over the place while letting that Samurai die and they prove what men of steel they all were.

Et Moi, Et Moi, Et Moi is the bands classic cover of Jacque Dutronc's 1966 punk classic and is probably the tightest sounding tune on the album and a fitting way to end this album and the incredible second coming of The Snivelling Shits just before Pete Makowski left us for the great toilet in the sky c'est la vie.
