Described as ”a modern-day gypsy in platform boots” and ”a road warrior”, Angela Perley’s PR leaves listeners in no doubt over this artist’s tireless commitment to rootsy, old-school troubadour ways.
Formerly the frontwoman of Angela Perley and the Howlin' Moons, Perley retains contributions from former bandmate, Chris Connor alongside a new band of roots-rockers.
Recorded in her native Ohio, “Plug me in, turn me loose” offers a sassy mission statement on the opening track. The remaining nine tunes soundtrack her very own love in the dust road movie that owes more to the 60s and 70s than it does to the 21st century. Pedal steel guitar combines with twang for the full cosmic alt-country effect.

This is an unashamedly retro sound attuned to dive bars or dancehalls in small towns rather than to arenas in big cities. Pretty good driving music too.
