Our Rating:
Destination Christmas is a re-issue for Fred Schneider & The Superions hard to find Xmas album that sells for shocking amounts of money on discogs. Fred is of course the legendary member of the B-52's and his Superions are Noah Brodie and Dan Marshall. This re-issue comes with all new improved artwork by Scott Suguichi.

The album opens by taking us all to Santa's Disco to get the party started, with all the glee they can muster, to get everyone up and dancing looking for the reindeers and elves, go on slug back some more eggnog and get frugging. The cheezy fun Hi-Nrg disco backing has a great violin line over the ever-present beat. The lyrics contain a few great double entendre's but nothing too obvious to make sure this album is all ages suitable.

Fruitcake is a full-on recipe come celebration of Christmas cake, as they suggest you make yours now, well my one has been ripening in a cupboard for over a month already, but yes stick in loads of dark rum and enjoy.

Chillin' At Christmas is a laid-back love song with xylophone and bells to chill out, while getting up close with the missus, begging for warm brandy and toasted marshmallows, as they sit and watch that burning log on tv all night long.

Teddy And Betty Yeti is the perfect song to scare the kids with, as they threaten you with a visit from the Christmas Yeti, over a squelchy synth dancefloor beat, as they knock back gallons of brandy Eggnog ready to scare the whole neighborhood going on a Christmas rampage.

Christmas Conga (Jungle Bells) No just say no, this is both clever and deeply strange in equal measures, it certainly isn't woke, as he gets Santa to do a Christmas Conga, this will get people scratching there heads, as you segue into whichever version of The Conga you usually play at Xmas parties. As the Natives play the drums and howl out the backing vocals.

Jingle Those Bells has slightly slurred drunken vocals, with a great brass section on this almost oompah re-working of Jingle Bells, you know what kind of bells Fred means, but hopefully the kids won't have a clue for a few years yet, so Jingle Those Bells and get fruity.

Under The Tree has whispered vocals from someone who's so sloshed they have curled up under the tree hugging the presents like a lost love, not letting the kids get to open there presents, it's one of those wild Xmas parties that's got out of hand once more. As he comes round, he finds his love next to him and want to have some fun under that tree, this will get messy.

Crummy Christmas Tree yep you know the type, plastic with streamers for branches, the sort that makes your kids cry when they see it, as all their friends have better ones than this crummy specimen. If you buy this Crummy Christmas tree and take it home, you will never hear the end of it.

Laughter At Christmas is a celebration of the idea that Christmas should be full of laughter and fun, no tears with enough food and drink and presents for everyone, over a sparse electro backing and lots and lots of laughter that will give The Laughing Policeman a run for his money.

Christmas Tears is the other side of the coin, all the horrible relatives, terrible presents, bad food, you wouldn't believe how they have decorated there house, this is a grinchfest classic, so probably my favorite song on the album as I really am not a Christmas lover.

The album closes with Santa Je T'Aime that does everything you'd hoped it would, yet you still can't believe how steamy her love is for Santa, as his bells jingle in ecstasy, she pants in his ears, to get him to give her just what she wants, the perfect present one of his personalized logs wrapped in latex wrapping paper naturally.
