According to Wikipedia, Pando is Latin for "I spread" and is the world's largest tree located in the Fishlake National Forest of Utah. The London-based electroacoustic trio strive to make monumental instrumental music as a homage to this huge living organism.
Pando Pando are Alex Bonney (producer, trumpeter and electronics) and percussionists Jem Doulton and Will Glaser. Their self-titled debut album is an intriguing organic creation comprising edited versions of studio improvisations.
Their named influences include Max Roach, Can, Cabaret Voltaire, and Actress. The ambient focus is revealed by the giveaway title of one track Eno's Bathroom.
Other tunes are named after sharks and dolphins and a watery fixation is further highlighted through eccentric press release notes. In Waxy Cocoon listeners are encouraged to hear “spraying noise like a whale from its blowhole” while It Must Have Been The Magpies ”fades out, like the flippers of a creature, receding as it embarks on a trans-oceanic voyage”

Frankly, it’s probably best to disregard such dubious guidelines and, to use another aquatic metaphor, simply listen and go with the flow.
