Our Rating:
The Bellrays are back with the band's latest album Heavy Steady Go that should make all of the bands fans happy, it sounds like Classic The Bellrays who like always feature Lisa Kekaula and Robert Vennum with a twin set of rhythm sections of Mark Cisneros and Ron Miller or Craig Waters and Nico Miles, the album was recorded at Waterworks in Tuscon and Sweet Gee in Riverside.

The album opens with I Fall Down, well don't we all every once in a while, or this morning in my case, this is more about doing those things that hurt the one you love, even when you didn't mean to, Lisa's full on vocals make the apologies, she knows she can't turn around, the path is set before her, The Bellrays heavy blues rock seals the deal like usual.

Hard Drive is pulsating like you're going 80MPH down a country lane, unsure if you can make the turns on your hog without slowing down, no matter what’s been thrown at them they will carry on, Robert Vennum pulverises that riff and unleashes a hard as nails solo.

Snakes are everywhere, making life far harder than it needs to be, beware they are out to get you, this takes some classic 50's walking blues, adds in some girl group style pop, amps the whole thing up to eleven, all the worries of what those crawling king snakes will do if they get in your hair takes over.

One More Night, one more drama, one more sleepless night, one more cracking tune, one more revelation, one more subtle breakdown, one more song you need to sing along too.

California adds a western twang to the guitar, lower slung more restrained, this trip to California is chilled out, almost celebrating the exodus of Tech billionaires to Austin, once again everyone is your friend, they all know Lisa's name and with good reason.

Come On rages out the speakers needing to be chanted in less sleazy ways than Gazza Glitter would have, this is a pulsating fist thumper of a brief tune.

Wolf's Sun is howling at the blues rock gods all night long, like the well-oiled machine The Bellrays are.

Down On My Knees could easily have been about the sports anthem related nonsense, this is about standing up for yourself when you need too.

All The Rage whatever you do don't pull that trigger just because everyone else is, solid advice and a storming tune while you figure out how to take one for the team, sort yourself out, be a useful member of the community.

The album closes with Whatever Turns You On is something you should do, but don't hurt anyone doing it, yeah go buy this album, it should turn you on, love the squiggly funk guitar on this tune.
