Philly-based Native Harrow are Devin Tuel on dulcet vocals and multi-instrumentalist Stephen Harms.
The husband and wife began making music together a decade ago and have released six albums.
This nine-track album was produced and recorded by the couple in their home studio. London-based musician Joe Harvey-Whyte added the pedal steel to Borrowing Time but otherwise it is all their own work.
They specialise in an easy listening mix of folk, country and soul with a decidedly 70s feel.
The press pack promises “an exuberant celebration of liberation” but despite being well-crafted, the songs never depart much from a soporific mood.
The bluesy Not The Woman raises the tempo slightly but the smooth textures are refined but overly-restrained.
