Cvrses is the Black Spiders fifth album of adrenaline fuelled, balls to the floor rock, recorded in Doncaster at Axis studios with producer Matt Ellis, the band are Pete Spiby, Wyatt Wendels, Nate Digby, James Evans and Adam Irwin.
This comes raging out of the speakers on Never Enough that's exactly the full- on indie rock the Black Spiders have always excelled in, pumping hard riff, full throated anthemic battle cry, to not give up and keep fighting to make things better, squalling guitar blitz, a truly adrenal blast.
The Cool Reaper is coming to get you with staccato riffs, street gang chanted backing vocals, suppurating walls of guitars, that cool Reaper coming for the good, the bad and the coolest of the cool.
Sorry Not Sorry is a total anthem for our times, get ready to pump your fists in the air to this one live, yeah, it's got groove and is begging to be heard with a massive crowd singing along to it.
Idol Hands will fool you to worship the wrong idols, the welter of guitars raging around us, colossal drums pounding your mind, no escape possible, you reap the pain you sow.
Tom Petty's Lips sounds a whole lot thicker and fuller than the lips they want to kiss, yeah raging biker rock that just wants to kiss Tom's lips, while naming as many of his hits as they can remember.
The Castile De La Roja Skit is a cool horror movie interlude intro into Dia De Muertos a darkened tale for skeletal fun on the day of the dead, swirling soaring epic guitars, with air of foreboding bass, looking for dark masses. It wouldn't have sounded out of place on the soundtrack to Inspector Rojos At The End Of The World either.
No Superman is another riff crushing anthem, making plain they ain't No Superman, but then that means they may well be a better friend to you that way, so don't try and boss them around either.
Go on and rebel against the system, rage against the dread of our times and chant along with this monster tune, they don't wanna Go they don't want burning and fighting in the streets, join the gang and get with the program to make things happier and better than they are, defeat the hate, Motorheaded blitzing guitars to rage along too.
Up All Night the rocks raging so loud you just can't sleep, paranoid at all the unfolding crisis, Cvrses to all those demons giving you sleepless nights, threatening to break on through to the other side, right on into the Curses Skit for a word from the dear leader.
Obey has a suspiciously slow intro you know will explode, they keep making clear that all of us are trained to Obey, well obviously, we need to find ways not to obey, they keep telling us we must Obey and love the Black Spiders.
The Mofo Sauce is a great sing along anthem for getting some of that Sauce, they are in love with salsa, Daddy's, Hp and even a bit of tomato, but best of sauce of all is the love sauce, this needs an 80's style video with lots of leggy Ladies and Gents with padded shoulders.
Rotten To The Core has a western swing rock feel, summing up our times succinctly, this whole world is Rotten To The Core sums up the first 25 years of this millennium perfectly, let's all sing it as a mantra together, then do something about making it a better place for everyone, the squalling raging guitars freak further and further out at all the insanity.
Extra track Little Death is stonking sing along mantra, rapped in a tight as can be riff, we've all had more than a little Death the last few years.
