Review: 'BRADSHAW, BOB'
'Live in Boston'

-  Label: 'Fluke Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '28th March 2025'-  Catalogue No: 'FR14'

Our Rating:
Irish-born, U.S. based singer songwriter Bob Bradshaw has released ten albums of original songs since 1995.

This is the sixth album of his that I’ve reviewed for W&H. I have consistently praised his song craft while lamenting on the fact that the he tends to keep his rawest emotions largely under wraps.

There’s a generic quality to his songs that don’t draw me in, He declares himself to be an expert in The Art of Feeling Blue but the sources of his melancholy are fairly well hidden.

Live in Boston contains no real surprises. Its title is a bit of a misnomer too in that it is not a concert recording but consists of thirteen songs performed in a single day at Q Division Studios, Massachusetts with a band of Boston musicians.

The no frills approach plays to Bradshaw's strengths but lay bare the weaknesses too.
